In May and June, C.A.R.E. Project partnered with the West Side Homeless Outreach to provide sack lunches and socks to 200 homeless people on the Venice boardwalk. West Side Homeless Outreach, Inc. began 6 years ago with Loren Franck making and distributing sandwiches to the homeless in his community. The service continues to serve the homeless community with sack lunches, socks, toiletries, clothing and blankets. These offerings give the Outreach an opportunity to begin conversations with people in need of referrals to services such as: the Veterans Administration, LA County Social Services, mental health services, addiction treatment, domestic violence shelters or family shelters.
